House of Deputies

(Vermont, Province I)

stevesmith squareI’m an Episcopalian by choice, having been confirmed in 1998. I was drawn to our faith by its liturgy and its polity and by my husband, Ed Weissman. Our first rector, at our small parish on the eastern shore of Maryland, was the Rev Gregory Straub.  Spoiled forever. I’ve since served as treasurer of St. Luke-in-the-Fields, Manhattan; St. James, Arlington VT; the Episcopal Church in (Diocese of) Vermont, and Province One. My professional career was as an insurance executive and included service as general manager of Church Insurance, a subsidiary of the Church Pension Group.  Ed and I live with three dogs and two cats near the end of a gravel road up a mountain in Vermont. My post-retirement career is as an executive coach, and I work with clients up and down the East Coast.
