On September 27, Presiding Bishop Jefferts Schori and President Jennings appointed Charles Wynder Jr. to the Task Force for Reimagining the Episcopal Church created by Resolution C095 at the 77th General Convention. Wynder replaces Ian Hallas, who resigned to focus on his career in music.
Wynder is the executive director of Boston Workers Alliance, a non-profit that addresses unemployment and underemployment of people of color and people with criminal background records seeking employment.
A Truman Scholar, Wynder is a native of Hampton, Virginia and is a graduate of Syracuse University, the University of Michigan Law School, and the Episcopal Divinity School.
